Get ready for a spicy 2012. On December 8, 2011, Pantone LLC, the global authority on color and provider of professional color standards for the design industries declared Tangerine Tango (17-1463 on your fandex) the “vivacious, enticing” color of the year.
The Color of the Year for 2012 will be the flamboyantly named Tangerine Tango, a “spirited reddish orange” that recalls sunsets.
“Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it,” Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute says in a press statement.
“Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”
